I married an American so I travelled half the world to be with my husband.
My first time to travel alone, to ride a plane, to go out of my country.
I was nervous, not just because I’m alone in a foreign land but I worry about my English. You see, as a third language, it has to get processed to my brain first , usually with a five-second delay and at worst 30 seconds. ( Go , figure!)
First entry: LAX- My flight was delayed so I miss my connecting flight. With more bad luck, I can’t contact my husband waiting for me in Florida because my roaming network is not working. Jeez!!!
I have to make my english processed faster.People here at LAX talk straight, fast , fluent english. I have this tendency to be shy which I hate but at that time I forgot being shy. I went to CR, practiced my English there, articulating as much as I could, put on my lipstick and rushed to the the airline girl. I was booked next flight.
Oh boy, sometimes you just have to face your fear to conquer it.
And of course, lipsticks help too.
